Run by a human.

Bootstrapped. Built by me, run by me.

Chris Jayden

I'm Chris Jayden. For years I built WordPress plugins for clients, private ones, not the WordPress.org kind. Agency builds, bespoke client tools. Shipping an update meant logging into wp-admin, finding the plugin, uploading the ZIP, and hoping the site didn't fall over. Multiply that by a dozen client sites and it gets old fast.

So I built something that fixed it. It ran on a Railway server for ages, entirely private, just solving my problem. At some point I figured other people were dealing with the same thing, so I put it out there.

There's no external funding. No investors. Decisions get made based on what's actually useful, and when something's broken or missing, it gets fixed. When you email me with a question, I read it. I respond. Not a support queue, not a bot.

I also run cartpops.com, a WooCommerce cart popup plugin. Working on CartPops meant I had to care about WordPress.org keyword rankings, readme copy, and install numbers that the platform rounds off and updates weekly. Every tool I found for tracking any of this was either expensive, incomplete, or clearly made by someone who'd never actually shipped a plugin.

On the ranking tools

The SEO tools came out of that. I wanted to track exactly where CartPops ranked for the keywords that mattered, see how competitors were doing, and feed that back into better readme copy, all without switching between a bunch of different things. So I built it for CartPops first. It's been running behind an experimental flag on my own plugins and the results have been good.

PluginRank used to be the main option for this kind of tracking. It got acquired, then went quiet. That left plugin developers with no purpose-built tool for organic growth on WordPress.org, which is a weird gap given how many people publish there. That's the hole I'm trying to fill with the ranking tools here.

The roadmap is just whatever's broken or missing. No investor updates, no quarterly planning theater. If something isn't working for you, tell me and I'll fix it.

Thanks for using AutomagicWP. I'm easy to reach if you want to say hi.
